Have
your ever wondered what's happening at work when barriers seem
to be getting in the way? Global Leadership Expert,
Dr. Karen Otazo
will help you to overcome obstacles and roadblocks.
With her frank, no-holds-barred – and
sometimes controversial – approach Dr. Otazo can help eliminate
organizational dilemmas – in most cultures or countries – with
profound wisdom and simple ways to take action.
Karen knows what senior-level managers need to do to prepare
themselves for the executive suite (and what business styles and
skills may hold them back), and how to artfully and
diplomatically bring their careers to the level where they each
want to be. Global Leadership Expert, Dr. Otazo, gives
executives the tools they require to help them navigate business
politics and global business cultures.
Dr. Karen Otazo, Managing Director of Global Leadership Network,
Inc. is a global executive coach and thinking partner for
multinational companies worldwide. With more than twenty-five
years of experience working with clients in the United States,
China, Indonesia, Hong Kong, the United Kingdom, Europe, and
Singapore, Otazo is uniquely equipped to work with executives in
global corporations, national subsidiaries, joint ventures, and
strategic alliances. Her blue-chip client list includes
BoozAllen Hamilton, Chase Bank, Colgate-Palmolive, Credit Suisse
First Boston, The Economist Group, GeneralElectric, Goldman
Sachs, Lehman Brothers, Marks & Spencer, Motorola, Pepsico, Time
International, and Vodafone. She earned a doctorate in Human
Resources Development from the University of Northern Colorado,
and holds masters and bachelors degrees in linguistics from City
University of New York. Otazo is fluent in English, Spanish,
French, Indonesian, and some Mandarin Chinese.
Dr Otazo (Hofmeister) has taken an active role in non-profit,
ngo, organizations globally and locally. She has been focusing
on empowering women through leadership work with Vital Voices
and a project to create a simple, open-source template to start
a business. Women exemplify a majority of the traits associated
with effective leadership and entrepreneurship yet all too
frequently do not know how to put their skills to work. Since
women and people of color are a huge source of the new entrants
into small business development worldwide, Karen is working
Neighborhood Centers in Houston to create an online publication
in Spanish which can then be used for Latino-American women. Her
hope is that if the approach proves useful that the publication
can be translated into other languages with appendices for the
specifics in each locale.

programming, Nigro built and ran her own radio and television
syndication company from 1993 to 2000.
During this time, she developed a reputation for creating
award-winning branded programming with creative product
integration. Her radio shows and vignettes aired in over 450
markets with the backing of corporations such as Avon Products,
Inc. and Blockbuster Entertainment. Further, her television
features aired inside news broadcasts across the country in well
over 50 markets.
Nigro is currently the President of Out Of The Box Deals, Inc.,

radio show of her own name, “The Debbie Nigro Show,” which was
syndicated by the Lifestyle TalkRadio Network. She also had a
successful onstage debut at The Laugh Factory in Manhattan.
The Lifestyle TalkRadio Network also syndicated a program
written and produced by Nigro titled, “Debbie’s Diary.” The show
was a daily, 90-second radio feature that aired on over 300
radio markets. It also aired online at LifestyleTalkRadio.com.
With her syndicated program, Nigro successfully created and
proved a proprietary strategy for “virally” attracting and
maintaining a loyal, online radio following.
"Visual
perception depicts our individual style and
my goal is to achieve that for my clientele. The total
look in dressing for the modern women defines your image
of the minimalist, classic look with an edge
that in essence
it derives from a refined wardrobe."
- Andrea Ward
Andrea Ward's 35 years of experience
working in the garment in New Haven, Connecticut
where she was employed by Ann Taylor when it was privately owned
by Richard Leibeskind, Founder.
She moved on to New York where she became a stylist for a
Fashion Couture House known as Richilene. Her position at
Richilene was working as a stylist for Elizabeth Arden Salons
and many
glamorous specialty stores such as Lilli Rubin, Martha and Sara
Fredericks. She would represent the company by featuring private
showings for clients and guests in these locations. Some of the
celebrities that Andrea has worked with are Jill St. John,
Lucky Roosevelt and the Supremes.
The Richilene Collection was well known in social circles and
was frequently written up in Town and Country with the young
Debutantes and infamous parties such as the Cotton Ball in
Memphis and the Kentucky Derby. The opportunity to work in a
capacity such as this one was a lifetime experience seeing how
the rich and famous lived and dressed. Andrea Ward worked with
the finest fabrics and top designers
Andrea married her husband Russ in 1985 and landed back in
Connecticut and started a specialty store called Andrea Renee'
Limited, in Southbury which she owned for 2 years.
Her next opportunity was to work with the largest manufacturer
in Western Europe known as Steilmann. The goal was to open
retail
stores in the US with European Ready to Wear clothing. The
company was based in Germany and her position was to develop
this multi store operation. She spent 5 years achieving this
goal and when she left the company there were 25 stores.
She traveled to the German market 8 times a year. Andrea found
it to be very exciting to have worked with Karl Lagerfeld’s
ready to wear collection.
Her passion was to own her own business and so in 1995 she
opened Andrea Ward Clothier in New Haven and was in business
for 12 years. When she closed she was honored with the Small
Business Award from the Chamber of Commerce.
Her concept was built on being very civic minded and
philanthropic
.
Presently Andrea Ward is the owner of Andrea Wardrobe Consultant
of Essentials By Andi Kamel which offers
"The Total Look in Dressing for the Modern Woman" and has a very
loyal group of clients and friends in the New Haven Community.

When
Andrea White is not working hard making sure
that kids are reading, she’s writing books for them.
Window Boy (Bright Sky Press April 2008), is a story
about a young boy in a wheelchair who has Winston
Churchill as an imaginary best friend. Set in 1968, this
touching novel tells the story of Sam Davis, a young man
with cerebral palsy that peers though his bedroom window
every day at the school he longs to attend. With great
determination and the help of both his caretaker and his
imaginary friend, Winston Churchill, Sam not only
succeeds in gaining admittance to the school and the
acceptance of his peers, but also fulfills his dream of
becoming the school's basketball coach. The narrative,
full of poignant insights into attitudes towards people
with disabilities, provides a glimpse into the life of
Winston Churchill, who is a key inspiration for young
Sam.

Houston-area school districts.
Andrea also is a founding board
member of Expectation Graduation, an organization dedicated to
keeping all kids in school until they get their degrees. An

to school. Expectation Graduation also has pioneered the use of
virtual mentors for at-risk students.

I have
been teaching children for 18 years. It all started in 1991 when
Carma’s Dance Creations opened its doors. As the years passed, my
clients began to request that I offer additional services. In 2000,
due to the high demand for these services, Carma’s Dance Creations
changed its name to Carma’s Creations to allow a broader spectrum of
services to be offered. These new services included: summer camp
enrichment programs, birthday parties, and interactive school
presentations. New classes were added to the dance program . The
classes added were: Mommy & Me, Kids in Motion, Fashion Show
Production, and Theater Production. In 2007, From the Page to the
Stage Play Production was added for children ages 5-9. The play
productions are taught in mini playshops (not workshops). Carma’s Creations has offered summer camps for 10 years. The company
is licensed and insured.
I
have also been creating poems since I was very young. When I was 14,
my mom and my Nana encouraged me to record these poems and to share
them as gifts for family and friends. I began to do so and I enjoyed
it very much. Now 3 decades later, my husband, family and friends
have encouraged me to share my more recent poems with you now. I
truly enjoy being in the "creation phase" of a poem as the words
dance around in my head. When a tempo or rhythm starts to form, then
it's time to sit down and let the words flow onto paper. I think
it's like a dance of words for me since it is similar to the process
of choreographing a routine. Whatever the reason, I am ready to
share these poems with you now. Whether you stop by to read a few
poems or you purchase a product for yourself or someone you care
about, I hope these poems help you to feel: inspired, comforted,
encouraged, and empowered.
