Writing articles and submitting them to article websites is a proven effective marketing tool. This
simple marketing strategy will deliver targeted visitors, increase your rankings and boost your sales. Here are a few easy tips
that will help you get started.
Your Title Means Everything
Choosing the right title will make or
break your article. Try to have a title that's catchy or tempting to the reader to learn more.
Just be sure that the title mirrors what the article is about.
If it makes sense to, try to place your keyword or keyword phrase in the title.
Short and Sweet is best
If you want your article to be picked up by ezines and placed on sites, keep
it short (300-1200 Words) and to the point. I find articles
in the 700 - 900 word range do very well, longer articles less so.
Check spelling and Grammar and Check it Twice!
We have discussed this countless times! Spelling and grammer is a must! See, now wasn't it annoying that I
just misspelled the word grammar? Use a spell-checker or WordPerfect to check your articles.
Resource Box
The resource box which is displayed at the end of your article. It's a great place to display your links and products
or offer newsletter subscriptions. If you're keyword marketing, place your
keyword or phrase in the anchor text of your resource box links. Google will
reward you handsomely for this simple little detail. So will the other search
engines.
Be Unique
Find your own voice. Be distinctive. Make yourself and your site
stand out. But don't go overboard, writing concise, informative and helpful
articles will bring enough interest and attention to your site. Narrowing and
focusing in on one subject area will eventually make you an expert on that
topic or subject.
Blast your Articles out on the Web
Online article directories are very good for this. There are literally
thousands of them out there Listed below are the major ones I use to get my articles 'out there'.
Don't forget RSS feeds and place your articles in blogs.
To find out just how far your articles have traveled, just place your article's title
between quotation marks and Google it. You'll be amazed to see where it will turn up!
In closing, If you try only one new marketing tool this year, make it article writing and have fun with it!
